Either this is just better Hojicha than the other I have tried from Simpson and Vail or it is growing on me, perhaps both. It’s got a nice roasted flavor that is not too intense with only a little in the way of a bitter aftertaste, if that is even how to describe the roasted aftertaste. There is also a sweet note behind the roasted flavor, noticeable. There is a third note that I just have no way to describe but I think it is also a by product of the roasting process. I chose this one this afternoon because Hojicha is known to be low in caffeine and I have to be up early again tomorrow.

I brewed this once in a 16oz Glass Perfect Teamaker from Teavana with 3 tsp leaf and 175 degree water for 3 min.

Flavors: Roasted

Preparation
175 °F / 79 °C 3 min, 0 sec 3 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

I am Allan. I live and work in Long Island, New York. I have been amassing a tea collection for nearly two years and have spent way too much money. I now try to buy mostly Puerh as I like it most and it lasts nearly forever. Black tea has a habit of going bad. If anyone is interested in tea swaps I am open to ideas and have quite a cupboard.
