1 Tasting Note View all

“Big leaves. Really light color brew. Very middle of the road, light roast oolong notes. Subtle nuttiness. A bit honeyed, but not very floral, more woody.” Read full tasting note

Description

This high fragrance, light roast Zhang Ping Shui Xian is a rare and unique Fujian Oolong that is hand compressed into individually wrapped, aromatic briquettes of tea. The large green leaves produce a flavorful cup of light honey notes, that are floral, layered, and lingering.

About the leaves:

Grown at an elevation of 800 meters above sea level the shuixian leaves are hand plucked off of 15-year-old trees, in May with a picking standard of one bud and 3-4 open leaves. Before being shaped into its distinctive cube shape, the 10 cm long leaves go through a 15-minute low fire process and a 4-hour roasting.
