Jasmine Pearl (or Jasmine Dragon Pearl) has been popular for centuries. The essence of jasmine flowers are absorbed by the tightly rolled tea buds. By rolling the buds the minimal exposed surface area of the “pearls” guarantees that the the jasmine scent remains fresh within the tea. The pearls are fascinating to watch as they unfurl in the hot water and captivate new and veteran tea enthusiasts.
The most tender green tea leaves and silvery buds are hand rolled into small pearls and naturally scented with the essence of fresh jasmine blossoms. The fragrant blossoms are mixed with a reserve Dragon Pearls (Long Xu) several times until it becomes infused with the sweet flavor and heady aroma of real jasmine. More than 20 pounds of fresh jasmine flowers are used to scent each pound of dried Dragon Pearl green tea.
