From Yuuki-cha

Origin: Gokase Town, Nishiusuki District, Miyazaki, Kyushu, Japan
Organic Certification(s): JAS
Harvest Date: Autumn 2013
Cultivar(s): 100% Kanayamidori

From Gokase Town in Miyazaki Prefecture comes this highly oxidized non-roasted Japanese tea which we refer to as “Oolong-Black Tea” because it has some elements of both Oolong Tea & Black Tea. It’s made from incredibly rare handpicked buds and the top two leaves that were selected from Kanayamidori tea bushes in autumn.

We favor this one brewed in a gaiwan as this concentrated brewing style offers more of the character of the tea than when brewed in a kyusu. Prepared in a gaiwan, this tea reveals an orange tea liquor that has a texture and sweetness that combines to make a nice creamy thick sweet taste with a lasting impression in the mouth without any strong bitterness like a nice black tea, and on the other hand presents some nice fragrant notes like a nice oolong tea.

First review in quite a while. Been drinking to much coffee while working a whole lot to much.
Second tea of the day, heaped the rest of the tin into a small kobiwakopot.

three steeps @ 100C 30s/60s/120s.

Still a wonderfull tea. Like most japanese blacks there is an undertone of mint with a heavy accent of apricot. Sweet with little astringancy.

Last steep has a bit of a bite thou.
