From Yunomi

Spring sencha leaf harvested extra young and processed by the Takeo family in early May at its freshest. The family uses no pesticides in cultivation and have isolated their tea fields away from other agricultural activities to prevent contamination.

JAS (Japan Agricultural Standard) organic certification mark.

Light grassy but sweet flavor with notes of apple and mint. The aftertaste is buttery but slightly astringent. Tasted just after harvest in May.

This is quite a bitter green tea that is hard to brew right. I like it more as a cold brew, but even there, it doesn’t stand out from the crowd. It does have some interesting characteristics, like a mild buttery/nutty taste and aftertaste, a spicy finish and cooling throatfeel, but overall just isn’t very appealing to me.
