From Yunnan Sourcing

Purple Rose “Zi Mei Gui” is a new hybrid created in the last 10 years. It’s a cross between “Zi Hong Pao” and “Jin Mei Gui”, and like “Zi Hong Pao” It’s “medium-leaf” class of tea, not purely Assamica or Sinensis. The leaves are thick and dense with a purple/red/green color when fresh.

Purple Rose is very rare as it’s only grown by two families, both in Cao Dun Village in Zing Zhen area of Wu Yi.

Taste is unique, with thick aroma and mouth-feel. The mineral aspect of Wu Yi is present, which is countered by a flower and honey sweetness. Roast level is medium level (for Wu Yi).

Truly a remarkable tea in pedigree, taste and experience.

Area: Wu Yi Mountains, Xing Zhen, Cao Dun Village

May 2017 Harvest
