Jiang Cheng tea mountain straddles the border between Mengla county of Xishuangbanna and LuChun county of Hong He prefecture. Arguably the remotest region of Southern Yunnan with steep mountains and lack of roads. I once travelled the road from Lu Chun to Yi Wu a distance of 190 kilometers taking a gut-churning 9 hours. Jiang Cheng mountain area is vast and shares some characteristics with Yi Wu. The teas are large leaved and broad with stems and heavy robust appearance. The brewed tea is floral and sweet and is difficult to over-brew. A good representation of Jiang Cheng tea!
This is part of the series of “Collection cakes” offered by Yuan Nian. Five tea mountains in all. Jiang Cheng, Yi Wu, Meng La, Man Zhuan(g) and Jing Dong (Wu Liang Shan of Simao).
