From Yunnan Sourcing

“Hua Pi Lin” (lit. Loquat Flower Forest) is a small village in Jinggu County of Simao where 100-200 year old tea trees are growing in a natural bio-diverse setting. Hua Pi Lin tea trees are Assamica varietal growing wild without intervention. Tea is harvested only twice a year, not 4 times a year like in many places. This gives the tea more strength, body, aroma and cha qi!

The brewed tea is pungent, full-bodied and with layered bitterness and sweetness mingling together. It can be steeped many time without losing steam. This tea is certainly good for aging and will be noticeably more delicious and textured as times passes.

Net Weight: 357 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)
Harvest time: April 2023
Harvest Area: Hua Pi Lin, Jinggu County, Simao Prefecture
Total Production amount: 30 kilograms

Nice aroma and good flavours, but ultimately this tea lack something special to stand out for me. It has a flleting taste with a good hoppy bitterness and nut much sweetness. However, one can find sour, woody, nutty, malty, bready, fruity, floral and even smoky qualities.

Flavors: Bitter, Bread, Floral, Hops, Lime, Malt, Nutty, Sour, Woody
