From white2tea

The 2021 Gas is a raw Puer blend focused on mind bending bitterness. Fans of in your face bitter character will be happy to steep this tea in any style, though most people will not be able to handle anything but gongfu style flash steeps, especially while this tea retains its youthful vigor. You’ll understand why it’s named Gas around steep 5.

I really enjoy bitter flavors so was excited when I got this for Christmas this year. But 2021 Gas is not bitter just to be bitter, there are great flavors during and in-between each sip. The aroma actually reminded me of menthol, maybe candy cane? Some sugary treat that one might have on the boardwalk. However, all steeps had this intense bitterness that I really enjoyed, even using flash steeps. As I got to later steeps, the gasoline flavor (no other way to put that) came out, but it’s subtle and enjoyable. I also got some winter fruit and honey flavors in between steeps. This is one of the more unique teas I’ve tried and would happily get more.

Finishing off my sample. This was my drink of choice for my brief fast after Christmas dinner. The energy here is special, very mindful and sensory. The 6th steeping continues to hit like a truck. My awareness is forced toward only the thing I’m currently focused on, and everything else just barely exists. I had this in the evening and went to lie down in bed soon after ending the session to listen to some music. I was half-dreaming while still awake for a while, which isn’t totally unusual for me but was definitely influenced by Gas. I left a song on repeat for like two hours, literally had a one-track mind.

I took advantage of the free shipping sale yesterday to order a cake.
