From white2tea

A new raw Puer tea blend pressed in 2022.

Most of our blends are made to be intense in one way or another, but what if you want to casually drink Puer at the beach? This is a light and relaxing blend, easy drinking. No frills, no stress. Sweet, soft and easy. It will age beautifully, or it’s fresh sweet grass Yiwu character is a pleasure for a soft session the day it arrives. The kind of raw Puer that you could easily use to introduce new tea drinkers to the genre or ideal for a casual cup in the morning.

Each cake is 200 grams.

First couple of infusions smell smoky and even a little burnt. This note does not dominate but it’s definitely present in the liquor as well.
Soft taste with some astringency.
Mineral taste that makes way for sweet aftertaste.
There is also a distinct sour note that I do not care for.
Fairly energizing tea.

If you can get past the smoky and sour note, good intro into sheng puerh but I’d recommend spending a few extra bucks for a cake and pick up the 2023 Veldt,

7g/110ml
10/5/5/5/10/15/30/45/60/120 = 10 steeps
There was room for another couple of long steeps but I felt it wasn’t worth it.
95°C for the first 5 steeps, boiling for the rest.

Grassy, sweet, mellow. Basically exactly what the description on the site said and nothing more. For my taste it’s a bit boring, but pleasant enough.

Gongfu!

I’ve been trying hard not to “blind cake” as often this year, but descriptions of soft Yiwu-like sheng are one of my weak spots – and this tea really does have both a soft taste and texture. First thing that came to mind was whipped butter, but with the taste of sweet dew and snow peas. Really lovely, though I wish it didn’t steep out quite so fast.
