Here’s Hoping Traveling Teabox Round #3 – Tea #13
Why do I have a feeling the Whispering Pines blends will just keep getting better? This one is nicely done. No chocolate here but WP has some mighty chocolatey leaves when they are on their own. Plenty of fresh mint and a nice balance of spices. The cup has a scent of chocolate even before taking a sip. This is a very unique blend! I used a little bit less than two teaspoons and the only complaint with this tea is that the black tea is almost a little too light. Both cups had a yellow color to the cup… not exactly like a black tea! But I wouldn’t change the black tea used at all.

This is a very pleasant, well-balanced chai! The mint leaves a cool and refreshing feel in my mouth after sipping. The malt chocolate notes of the base tea are a nice complement to the mint and spices. It’s really good. I’ve noticed that the Fujian black tea base doesn’t retain as much of its flavor with a re-steep, which is a bit disappointing. The second steep is much more mellow; the base tea brings some light bread-like flavors, and the mint steps back to allow more of the cinnamon and spice to come forward. It’s significantly lighter but still delicious. I’m so glad I included this in my last order. Brenden knows how to do chai right! ;)

Yum. Yum, yum, yum. I love Whispering Pines’ Mint Chocolate Chip, and this tea has all of the great flavors of that tea combined with the amazing blend of spices they add to their chai. Then there is a malty, bready note that makes my eyes roll back in my head. Seriously good stuff. The only possible bad thing is that this is a sample. And I’m not supposed to buy tea until May. I’m not going to make it until May. :)

Sadly, this tea was never offered…but was a custom blend for you only :)

If you’d like more, however, I can definitely make some more!

Oh! Wow, that is the coolest thing ever. :) I would love more of it. I’m planning on placing an order next week, so we’ll have to talk.

Thank you for the amazing tea!
