Every coop i’ve ever been to stores their tea wrong. even if those glass jars are airtight and haven’t gotten water in them, the light will kill the flavor/color as fast as anything. Tea tins are the way to go. it may not be as nice for display purposes but it’s better for flavor. I bought a bai mu dan from the plainfield coop that was so dry/broken and almost flavorless i threw out the cup i was drinking along with the rest of the loose stuff i had purchased. it was really sad, i never do that. I buy my jasmines from the thai market, huge quantity for really quite cheap, i think the current tin i have is probably a dime or less per cup. really good stuff too. although if you’re looking for the best, jasmine pearls are pretty remarkable. i have some with rose hips in them…amazing. lauren brought them back from china.
yes! I recall sharing a cup of that jasmine tea with you, and having a much more enjoyable experience.
I guess that makes my rating more of the coop!
