Barpathar Tea Estate, a tea plantation started by Sri Balabux ji Sutodiya in the year 1924 amidst the jungles and hills of now called Karbi Anglong district of Assam. He started this plantation cum manufacturing estate facing all odds and resistance from the British Raj and proved an Iron Man.
The Estate still nurtures some of its pioneer sections of Chinese, Cambodian and Assam variety of plants which add to the unique taste of Barpathar Tea and is a rare one. Further adding to the taste is the age old manufacturing procedures still being followed.
The Estate which offers an experience of untapped nature with rivers and hills is a one hour drive from Dimapur airport in Nagaland and shares its boundaries with the Nambur Wild Life Sanctury which is a part of the Kaziranga National Park.
