I am drinking this at my parent’s house and don’t have too much to say, it is barely worth writing about. Anyway the weather is yucky, snow/rain so I thought I’d have a cuppa. This seems like a Chinese green tea, mildy vegetal and slightly astringent. Would not recommend but I bet it’s cheap. ;-)

Ah, pure green tea…This is the type of beverage I like to drink when I’m trying to focus. It is a little bit astringent, but I don’t find it particularly distasteful even after steeping it for a long time. And the faint bitterness helps me focus, just like black coffee does.

My husband loves this green tea (he’s more of a coffee drinker). I liked it, but found it a bit astringent as well.

Right! I think I also have a tendency to oversteep my teas…but I suspect it’s just a quality of certain plain greens that makes them so bitter. If understeeped, they taste too watery.
My favorites tend to be green tea blends, especially jasmine greens, but they serve a different purpose—bitter is for focusing :).

One of my favorite teas to brew. This is a specialty tea, Green tea bagged. It is mild and tasty; a delightful cup of Green tea and one can’t help but to think of health benefits found in Green teas.

Can’t beat the price. This was my very first green tea. And I wish only to log it as such.

I kind of resent this tea.

Man, I need to get some better teas here at work. . . . For most of the week all my true teas sit unloved in my cupboard, because I’m avoiding caffeine in the evening. It’s sad.

This isn’t anything revolutionary, but at $2 for 48 bags, it’s quite a bargain—and better tasting than some other green teas of similar cheap quality. Be warned: the box says to brew 1-2 minutes, but I found that brewing for any more than one minute makes it too bitter.

I’ve had this at my mom’s before. I picked some up with her, there is no Trader Joe’s near me. I like their Jasmine Tea too. I’m having the toughest time telling time in Spanish. I’m not doing bad in Spanish so far. I think Trader Joe’s has good tea. I’m also eating a sticky bun from Panera. I volunteer for a food pantry, and we get day old bread free from Panera, so I asked if I could have some. I spread butter on it, and stick in in the microwave for 15 seconds, and it is yummy with the tea. Perfect combination. After a hard day of a class I wasn’t prepared for. I’m going into office hours tomorrow morning.

Firstly, I should probably mention I lean more towards Japanese green tea rather than Chinese. So, perhaps I am not the right drinker for this. I have enjoyed the yellower, more bitter Chinese varieties before, but I found this one too much so. I did finish my box, but I did so with much coaxing.

Definitely green tea, albeit not entirely memorable. It’s fairly bland, which allows it to go well with honey. This could easily be imbibed all day since the flavour profile is straightforward and middle-of-the-road. And it’s ridiculously cheap to boot!
