With this oolong tea from Hon.yama, Aozuru-chaho Thés-du-Japon once again offers a tea from the Takahashi tea farm, which produces, among others, the famous Kôju oolong cultivar. In contrast to that cultivar, this is an autumn harvest and, more importantly, a Taiwanese cultivar. Its name cannot be disclosed, but connoisseurs might be able to figure it out.
Thus, this is a baozhong oolong with a particularly milky fragrance and very slight vegetal nuances. The first infusion is light, fluid, and has aromas that are once again clearly milky and mildly sweet.
In subsequent infusions, these characteristics are highlighted and appear as much in the nose as on the palate. The milky fragrance is also slightly minty and has tropical fruit notes. While remaining very fluid, the infusion offers volume and rich aromas.
This is a very fine Japanese oolong with pronounced aromatic characteristics.
