Lychee
Lychee is native to Southesast Asia and the Indian sub-continent. Harvested in the peak of the summer, it is considered cooling with rejuvenating properties. It is a small plum sized fruit, with red outer skin, and sweet juicy fruit inside.
Pairing
Lychee complements well with slightly spicy, dry foods and nuts. It is also great for making sorbet and ice cream.
Flavor Profile: Sweet, rich flavor and aroma similar to red roses. Full bodied brew with little or no astringency.

I treated myself to black tea today! I saw there was enough of this tea left and then it was all done! This doesnt smell like lychee. Perhaps there is a subtle nuance of it. The brew was a nice golden brown and had a slightly nutty scent to it. It tasted great! It didnt need any additives. It was naturally sweet and the fruitiness was extremely subtle. Good tea overall! I cant say I will be purchasing this in the future. I love lychee and wished it had more of a presence in this tea.

I like this tea. Slightly fruity, good smell. It’s about in the middle as far as the caffeine index reads on the side of the packaging.
This tea has a light, fruity flavor that is subtle rather than overpowering. It’s smooth and fairly pleasant to drink and I imagine it would take milk and sugar well. However, though it’s full-bodied, it lacks character.
Despite hating fruity teas, I actually wish the lychee was more prominent. The dry leaves smell delicious, but the brewed tea doesn’t really hold up to the promise.
I’ll try brewing this tea with 190° water next time and see if that makes a difference.
