Sipdown

Kind of a sad sip-down though, as I really enjoyed this one. Celestial Seasonings has something similar but it doesn’t have rooibos, which I like to drink daily. This says it’s “Sold Out and Discontinued” on the Republic of Tea site. My only complaint with teas from this brand is they are quite pricey as they only produce 6oz of tea. And for some reason, some of the blends, while still the same price, only come with 36 bags, while others come with 50. In any case, I’ll miss this blend. It’s not too gingery and has notes of cinnamon and vanilla. I add sweetener and use 2 bags per mug (though I can usually get another steep out of them). Bye Gingerbread Cuppa Cake, it was nice knowing you!

I grabbed a sample of this from the Herbal TTB weeks ago and finally got around to trying it today. Although it’s not as good as the gingerbread rooibos from Capital Teas, I do quite enjoy this one. The ginger flavor isn’t too strong and the addition of cinnamon and vanilla does give you a taste that resembles a gingerbread cookie. Like most Republic of Tea offerings, I prefer using 2 teabags with this one for a stronger flavor.

Oooh, I quite like this! I’m not a huge ginger fan, but I love gingerbread, and this smells exactly like the gingerbread from a box my mom used to make 10 zillion years ago when I was a kid! It definitely has a ginger flavor, but it’s more a “baking ginger” than a zingy, fresh one. A touch of cinnamon, and a touch of vanilla or cream or cake flavor…I added some sugar to it, as I felt like something very sweet tonight, but it probably didn’t require it. A bit of milk would probably taste good, as well, but I wasn’t in the mood for it this time. I got a good 10 oz from my one steeping, and it tastes sufficiently strong, so maybe mine was fresher. I did get it straight from RoT, not retail, so that may have helped.

Great Canadian TTB

This is a very muted version of gingerbread. There is nothing that jumps out as being distinctly that flavor but there is also nothing offensive. Also, I am shocked that this is a rooibos tea because I am getting no rooibos flavor at all. Definitely a pleasant cup so thank you Jeweled Thumb for the chance to try it.

GCTTB i’m gradually working through some of the teas from the travelling tea box and yesterday i managed to get through a couple. I’m still behind with everything this week as work has been incredibly insane. I have been a fan of a number of ROT’s teas so i was happy enough to try this one. Sadly there’s something too sweet about this one, and it doesn’t quite remind me of gingerbread. It’s decent enough but not a teabag i’d g out of my way to get.

TeaBrat

I like the lemon chiffon cake from this line…

Sil

hmm i’ll have to see if i can find it
