I got this from JustJames a looong time ago – thank you for the sample!

It wasn’t bad. The taste kind of reminded me of this European rosehip tea that my dad used to drink. It was pleasantly tangy. The coconut wasn’t evident to me, but maybe it was playing the role of toning down the hibiscus.

This was ok.

Love this tea. The coconut takes a back seat to the bright hibiscus, but thanks to the coconut this tea is creamy rather than astringent (as is a common issue I find with tropical teas). Great hot or iced—it’s refreshing and a treat for any occasion. I usually brew a cup when I’m missing the sand between my toes and the calming sound of the ocean waves. I’d go as far as to say that this is like Hawaii in a cup.

Nice, kind of reminds me of Tazo Passion Tea but less tart.

My husband and I both really enjoy this tea. With some added honey, it’s just slightly tart. The steeped tea isn’t as fragrant with coconut as the dry tea, but it’s still there kind of hiding behind the curtain. My husband wants to buy a few more of the hibiscus teas from the Republic of Tea. There are several other flavors – strawberry, raspberry rose, blueberry, natural hibiscus, hibiscus sangria, watermelon, vanilla apple, lychee pineapple, and key lime. It will be hard to decide which to try first since he says they all sound good. The only thing that’s a bit unappetizing about this current cup is that the liquid is a little foggy, but otherwise it’s a lovely berry color. This is a nice light tea for spring and I’m thinking it may really be refreshing on ice.

I adore this tea. I’ve only ever cold-brewed it, so that’s all my review can be taken into account for. Anyone who is wary of hibiscus, this is the hibiscus tea to try. The other flavored hibiscus teas from RoT were mostly too tart, but the coconut in this one so perfectly mellowed out the hibiscus, leaving it in the background as more of a refreshing quality than a takeover flavor. Now, granted, I generally get along with hibiscus as it is. But, I really think it learned how to play well with others in this tea. I only wish it was sold in Cost Plus World Market along with the regular Superflower Hibiscus flavor since that would be such a convenient way for me to get my fix. I found it at Whole Foods today, but I’m not even sure if they are going to carry it year-round or only around summertime.
