From The NecessiTeas

We’ve Gone Bananas

My four boys inherited something terrible from me. It’s called… An ice cream obsession! I could eat ice cream anytime of the day no matter how full I was! Unfortunately, we all know it’s not the “healthiest” of treats. For those times I’m looking to clean up my diet (which isn’t very often) I’ll reach for my second favorite treat. Monkey Tails a.k.a. frozen bananas dipped in chocolate. Now I’m not monkeying around, these glorified bananas are pretty darn amazing (see what I did there) they are so good, I just knew I needed to create a tea blend that would resemble this chocolatey banana treat!

Preperation Use 1 tsp per 8 oz boiling water, steep 5 min.

Ingredients Black tea, freeze dried bananas, chocolate chips (cane sugar, non- alcoholic chocolate liquor, non-dairy cocoa butter, marigold petals, natural and organic flavors. *Gluten, nut, dairy and soy-free

Swap Sample Sipdown! (48)

This one came from VariaTEA!

For some reason, I expected this to be a chocolaty Golden Monkey. Obviously that’s not the case, though I wasn’t too disappointed, as I also love banana.

Unfortunately, this tea is super banana Runts. And to me, that’s so much less enjoyable than more natural-tasting banana flavor.

I think there’s chocolate there, but I can’t really taste it under the strong artificial banana flavor.

Nope nope nope!

I could never get this to work for me. There used to be a stir fry place my mom took me and my siblings to when we were little and she used to get us chocolate monkeys which were basically chocolate milkshakes with banana syrup. I wanted that. That wasnt what I got.

Cameron B.

Clearly Anne needs to make a chocolate banana tea, since she has the best banana! ;)

This is a sipdown for me, but apparently I didn’t have this tea listed in my Steepster cupboard so I don’t get to count the number decrease… Boo!

I enjoyed this last mug though; I finished it off last night while watching the Season 6 premiere episode of The 100 – and honestly I am shook. I wish someone at work liked The 100 because there was so much to unpack, and I just really want to have someone to talk to about it. What an emotional rollercoaster…

Tea tasted lovely; but what significantly more chocolate than banana.

I like the 100 but haven’t watched the premiere yet.. I think it starts this week in the US for some reason?

Roswell Strange

Huh, weird – I wonder why the difference? Well, when you do watch it feel free to hit me up! I need someone to rant to about it XD

Yeah, it was supposed to be this week, so I don’t know what happened.

Sipdown (224)

I took this out because it is on the older side and I thought it would make a good latte. Then I realized I was lacking the amount of leaf necessary for a latte so I picked another tea to make a latte. Then I decided that since this was out and the sipdown was nigh, I would make this too.

Unfortunately I could never get this to work for me. As a latte or plain, it just really was not what I wanted. I used to get chocolate monkey drinks at a stir-fry place called Fire & Ice and it was basically a chocolate shake with sweet banana flavor. This is more like black tea with some banana chip flavor. The base also has more tannins than I like. I am okay with saying goodbye because like I said, it never really worked for me.
