From The Essence of Tea

This tea was stored in Nancai mountain by local farmers since 2014. It compared favorably to the 2016 fresh harvest, so we decided to press these slightly aged buds. Usually tea stored in the mountains isn’t so good, but this one has very clean storage and already has a hint of the aged flavor that will follow.
The tea is very clean and pure, with a thick mouthfeel, comfortable energy and long aftertaste. There is an underlying bitterness when brewed strongly, a characteristic of this type of wild tree, it’s easily controllable when brewing, but adds a powerful strength to this tea. We pressed this as a 300g tuocha.

Quite a bit of bitterness in this one with maybe some slight spicy notes. That’s not really the right word for the note, but I don’t know what to call it. Couldn’t find this one on the site anymore so it must be sold out. Not particularly good enough that I bothered to look up any more details about it.

This was pretty cheap so I got a sample. Unfortunately, I tried a few weeks after the Kunlu wild which makes these not enjoyable at all. Kunlu wild is just… the best wild out there and have such a strong taste and brews for days. This is cheap and all, but it falls flat after six steeps with just semi tasting liquid that can pass as ‘cheap’ puerh like Royal Tea Bay type of stuff.

Could you perhaps share your notes for the Kunlu bitter wild?
