“…the first brew always tastes fruity, smooth and gentle. Starting with the second infusion things tend to go down hill with grassy bitterness… Not much awakening-effect here…expected more.” Read full tasting note
“Not a bad tea. A good stand by, it was not great but I have had much much worse gunpowder tea before, the leafs all opened well and it had a good taste but I think the batch I got was a bit too old!” Read full tasting note
“Great taste, easy to brew, too much particles but might be this brand. Don’t really need more than a spoon. The leaves unroll and expand a lot.” Read full tasting note
“slightly light taste” Read full tasting note
Known in China as “Pearl Tea,” this tea owes its name to the shape of its tightly rolled tea leaves, which early European explorers compared with the shape of gunpowder. When infused, the leaves unfurl to produce a dark-green tea with a pungent flavor and piquant fragrance.
How to Prepare
Use 1 teaspoon of tea per 8oz of water. Heat water to 175-180 degrees and steep tea for 1-1.5 minutes. 2oz of tea equals 25-30 teaspoons.
Ingredients:
Pure green tea.
