oh man… so glad i read my previous tasting notes. For some reason i thought i hadn’t tried this before. Turns out i had, and i pondered what adding some maple syrup to this would do. So i did. and guess what? I totally just drank the entire cup quick like a bunny. I’m in heaven! this is ssssoooooo good with the added maple syrup. Hells yeah! I’m totally dancing in my chair. I wish i’d sent you some of this terri. on it’s own it’s so not this good, but man this maple syrup in it is KICKING IT! totally just brings the blend together. woot!
oh yeah…and yes, today is work from home day so YAY for overload on tea drinking!
Edit: Not bumping the rating on this up because the tea itself isn’t delicious by itself.
I’ll have to write a proper tasting note later, but I brewed this up yesterday and drank some – although it’s drinkable straight (as in, not too harshly smoky), I was disappointed at the lack of maple flavour. Drinking it the next day, it’s a bit sweeter; definitely different from a straight lapsang, but not quite what I was hoping for. Fingers crossed I can coax a bit more flavour out of it next time! Currently withholding a rating (I think I’d give it about a 60 right now, because if I just want smokiness, there are other teas I’d prefer).

You could mix this one with Tealux’s other maple tea…
Good to know. This is one tea I am super curious about, even though I don’t love smoky flavours. I had hoped the maple would temper it a bit.
Tea Sipper – I was thinking about ways I could make it mapley. Unfortunately I didn’t pick that one up from them, but I do have real maple syrup, so might try sweetening it that way. Just a bit disappointing when you’re expecting a more mapley flavour (like Autumn Leaves or Oh Canada).
OMGsrsly – I do not recommend this if you don’t care for smoke. Although, it’s not as bad as some teas I’ve had, in terms of smokiness. That said, it did taste like bacon.
That’s kind of what I was hoping for! Maple bacony flavoured tea. :) But from your description I would prefer more bacon.
Haha, well, it is kind of bacon-y! If you’re curious to try a sample, I’d be quite willing to send you some or do a small swap! I totally have some of 52teas’ Maple Bacon as well, from Azzrian :)

It’s done RIGHT. It has a good amount of smoke without it being obnoxious! YAY! Probably one of my faves from Tealuxe so far!
pretty sure this is the one i didn’t like as much until i added a small spoon of maple syrup to it and then it was delicious! lol
Agave isn’t too bad, either…and I don’t usually add anything to my teas :)

So far none of the 8 teas I got from Tealux are really mightily strong tasting. this one maybe is my fave. what’s with the water temperature thing; you’re kidding right? All the rest of you are using thermomators?
