Chocolate Loves Strawberry

Thank you Sil for sharing! I made a mini latte topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce and it was quite nice. Sometimes it’s more chocolate than strawberry so it’s always delightful when that strawberry note pops up. It’s a creamy/candy strawberry that is giving me strawberry milkshake vibes with chocolate undertones and it tends to pop up near the end of the sip. Leading up to the strawberry is all chocolate and while creamy, it’s not overly sweet. It’s nice and I might grab more if already placing a Tealish order, though I wouldn’t place one just for this.

Sipdown! This one is sort of middle of the road for me..it’s not chocolate, and the strawberry is subtle but it also just kinda worked for me so yeah. lol

Although the look of the raw leaves may make one think the flavour will be rather subtle, this is not the case. The chocolate and strawberry bits certainly dominant the cup, completely masking the bitter taste of black tea that usually turns me off! I also think the flavour ratio of strawberry to chocolate within this blend is perfect, allowing for the bold chocolate taste to hit first followed by a refreshing fruity splash of strawberry!

I got a sample of this from a lovely tea friend. It smells good and it tastes even better! I’m getting a lot of the fruitiness of the strawberry, with a nice chocolate undertone which is comforting. If I ever order from Tealish, I would definitely get this one. Yum.

This is another tea I got on sale at work. The description claims that the overtones are chocolate and strawberry and the undertones are black tea and vanilla. I found instead that the dominant flavours are the black tea and the cocoa with the strawberry as a subtle undertone. It’s more of a tart, dried strawberry flavour than a fresh sweet one. The base is too harsh to be drunk plain in my opinion but it takes milk nicely. Not a bad tea, but I’ve had this particular flavour combination executed better in other teas.

This tea is a nice accompaniment on this rainy cold night. It is bright enough in flavour to bring some warmth and light into the experience but has enough death in both flavour and texture to be comforting on a night like this.

The tea once poured is a warm oak colour with a scent of warm strawberry compote, cream, baking chocolate, butter pastry and a savoury note.

The strawberry flavour on top tastes like fresh cut slightly sun warmed ripe strawberries with a touch of tartness over a a slightly fruity and herbaceous base tea with cocoa notes. A dark bittersweet chocolate mixes through both the base and flavouring notes with a touch of cream and vanilla. The tea is heavier and not as creamy as Zen Teas strawberry cream, with deeper bitter notes from the chocolate and base. It is not as thick or dark tasting as Butikis Red Queen Cupcake. It has a flavour that lies somewhere inbetween. The strawberry is bright and fresh tasting and very faintly floral. Chocolate settles towards the bottom of the cup as it sits leaving a more copper coloured brew. There are hints of baked goods and the last sips taste of strawberry flavoured hot chocolate. The tea is mildly tannic with a body dense enough to take milk and other additives. The second steep has richer chocolate notes and a texture more reminiscent of baked goods.

This tea makes a nice strawberry black for any time of the year.
