An excellent tea from one of the best Darjeeling gardens, which boasts old, original china tea plants. This garden stands out especially for the so-called muscatel teas in the second harvest, which have made it famous all over the world. This year, however, we are getting an exceptionally successful, one of the best first harvests from this garden that we have come across in our entire tea career. This lot was processed from the leaves of tea plants grown in one of the highest areas of this garden, with native tea trees that are in many cases over 100 years old. It has a bright, golden-yellow infusion colour, a full, floral to freshly fruity, typically first-harvest aroma and a wonderful, fresh, balanced, sweet, juicy taste with a pleasant, long aftertaste, which is underlined by a very decent, attractive astringency, which inherently belongs to these types of tea and gives them a kind of youthful, lively character. This garden is located in the Kurseong Valley at an altitude of 980 to 2300 m above sea level.
