From Tea Mountain

A top-quality tea with a beautiful appearance made from golden tips. After steeping, it gives us a rich copper-colored infusion with a very pleasant aroma reminiscent of raw sugar made from sugarcane juice “jaggery (n. Gur)” and a heavier, round, full sweet to malty taste with a distinct trace of honey, flowers and dark chocolate in the aftertaste.

Cultivar: a mixture of cultivars (TT1, T78…)

Harvest time: early June 2024

Area: Ilam, approx. 1500 m.a.s.l.

This is an engaging Nepalese tea thanks to its complexity and a creamy mouthfeel.

The dry leaves smell of caramel, roasted nuts, malt, sugarcane, while the wet leaf aroma reminds me of sahlep, hay, rose, and roasted barley. The taste is sweet and toasty with some floral notes as well as flavours of milk, honey, malt, chocolate and grains.
