From Tay Tea

A lovely herbal blend inspired by the sun-baked lavender fields of Provence. A floral and fruity rooibos blend with lavender, rose petals, red and black currants and rose hips.

Tea Cocktail from @TeaTayNY on twitter: Fill wine glass with 1/2 ‘A Day in Provence’ chilled tea + 1/2 chilled white wine (like Pinot Grigio)

My order arrived none too soon from Tay Tea today and boy did I need it! Very stressful weekend… Saturday – found out my brother will be deployed to Afghanistan in Nov. for 12+ months, then find out my husbands uncle crashed is dirt bike that night and is in ICU (doing better now), finally Sunday my father ends up in the ER and has been admitted to figure out heart/stomach issues….PLUS I started in the new tea shopt today.

SO I really needed this tea! It relaxed me quite nicely. Beautiful aroma when I opened the tin and while it was steeping. It was so good I drained the cup in seconds! I’m thinking round two is coming up. Still very stressed out and not at all sleepy.

Sympathy and prayers for the family situations. A body can only take so much at once. Take care of yourself.

Thank you! I’m pretty sure I’m run down because of worry. But it’s hard not to worry and to get a business of the ground at the same time….thank goodness for tea!

Delicious! Usually I dislike rooibos, but while trying to get a handle on my massive tea collection, I ran across this and saw lavender was an ingredient, and immediately wanted to drink it. Haha. Turns out – the rooibos didn’t bother me for some reason this time, so all I got was delicious, lavender-heavy delicious tea. I could do without the rose, which I find cloying, but it wasn’t too annoying. Glad I tried this one, and have a couple cups left!

Another sipdown from Starfevre’s generous box of teas. I really enjoyed this one. I wish DT would bring back Rooibos de Provence, because this was very similar. The lavender, rose, and current makes a fantastic combo.

Love the name of that tea, received it in the tasting box by Amoda. I am glad they included this tea because when I opened the bag I was pleasantly surprised with a lavender/rose smell. The red color of this tea is beautiful. I brewed 1 tsp in 8 oz of water for 4 minutes. I enjoyed it at the end of the day and it has a nice rose taste. I would drink this tea again.

Backlog:

Can I just say that I’m already feeling the loss of Amoda Tea? I know that it’s still early in the month of the first no-box-from-Amoda-Tea month, but, I probably would have received the box either today or yesterday … and I don’t have it and I miss it. It was certainly a lot more fun to receive that parcel from Amoda Tea than it is to receive bills in the mail! (I know, duh, right?)

This was a tea in April’s box. Yeah, I’m still behind. Big surprise.

A really lovely rooibos blend. I love the lavender, and I love that the rooibos isn’t a strong flavor. The currant gives it a wine-ish sort of taste that i enjoy, and there is a pleasant sweet-tart berry note.

A really nice cuppa.

I decided to have this one again today since my husband is snoozing on the couch so I didn’t expect he’d surprise me with bourbon this time. No bourbon, but plenty of tastiness. I quite enjoyed this tea, and I’m really glad that Amoda included it with the April tea box. It is incredibly well balanced between the rooibos and currant notes, with just the exact perfect amount of floral from the lavender. Absolutely delicious. I rarely sweeten my teas, but I wonder now that my mug is empty if just a touch of sugar would make this tea stupendous? Hmmm….something to consider for the next time I have it.

If you like lavender in your tea, try the chamomile lavender by Butiki Teas. Holy crap is it good!

Cheri

I just placed a Butiki order (my first) and never thought to add this one. I’ll add that to my list for next time. Thanks!

mj

Too bad you’re right before me rather than right after me in the Butiki box #2! I could have put a sample in for you. If you are ever looking to swap, let me know.

Cheri

Thanks for the thought, anyway. Maybe I’ll get lucky enough for it to show up in one of the other TTBs I’m in, or maybe I’ll break down and get some in my next Butiki order. (I’m hoping my husband likes the Peach HoppiTea enough that I can con him into buying the tea the next time.)

I don’t think I’ve ever had a floral rooibos before!

Based on the smell of the dry leaf, I did not think that I would enjoy this. It smelled very artificially floral. Once brewed, this becomes a veritable bouquet. If this is what a day in Provence feels like, then I need to book a flight. The lavender and rose play nicely with the woody quality of the rooibos, which keeps the florals in check. As this cools, the berry flavor comes out. It’s almost like a different tea actually.

Overall I find this very soothing and expect to finish it off quickly. It’s just a lovely lovely bedtime tea.

Oh man, I feel like a Scrooge tonight with my poor tea ratings. This tea smells like cherry cough syrup but if I ignore the smell then it actually tastes good. Currants and Rose petals are center stage with this one and give it a very pleasant fruity flavor.
