I loves me some tastey peach Wuyi oolong tea. :D <3

I’m not familiar with that emoticon. I’m assuming it means a bare-breasted smiling woman, but I’m not sure.

Auggy

<3 is a heart.

teafiend

Although a bare-breasted woman is a hysterical interpretation. I can’t seem to find this tea anywhere and I so want to try it! I might actually have to use the internet for this one.

takgoti

@Rena Sherwood HAAAAA hahahahahaha! Brilliant.

Jillian

ROFLMAO! I don’t love this tea quite that much, Rena!
XDDD

@Teafiend It’s probably my favorite of all the Stash tea, which admittedly, to me, are rather mediocre. But this is one I’d definitely rec, especially if you’re not that familiar with oolongs. I managed to pick it up in my local grocery store, so it can’t be that hard to find.

Well, I notice my last tasting note says three years ago. Have I been here that long? Oh, and holy cow is this bag that old? sip sip, Uhmm why yes, yes, it is. I loved this when it was fresh. Not so much now. sip down 112.

I ripped open the bag and was blasted with a sunshine-y whiff of juicy peach. YUM! Once brewed, the peachy bliss scent lingered for a spell but then faded like a sunset.

First sip. Uh, hello? Where’s the peach?! This one smells much more peachy than it tastes! There isn’t much oolong taste either. Just like bland tea that someone melted a Popsicle in.

Second sip. More Popsicle flavor. Decent. But NOT what I want in a peach tea. I guess by “white peach” I should assume less flavor. Rename this “Clear” or “Transparent Peach,” ’cause flavor is what this lacks.

It does SMELL good though – perhaps I can use it as a potpourri?

TTB Tea #2

1 bag (2.22g)/6oz purified water served hot and neat.

I originally set the timer for 5 min (they suggest 3-5), but by 3 min the liquor was a quite dark burnt orange-ish brown so I decided to stop there. That wasn’t too surprising since the tea began smelling strongly of peaches (in they jelloy sense) as soon as the bag hit the water.

The flavor, thankfully, is not jelloy. Yes, there is a strong peachy flavoy that does in some aspects remind me of unset jello, but the oolong base is quite strong which saves it from being hot jello. A very good tea- one I appreciated drinking and would willingly drink again, but due to the vast aray of teas out there I won’t be adding this to my staples or even my “rebuy eventually” list.

I think this is the first oolong I’ve seen in a bag. But I don’t get out much. ;-)

Cofftea

lol! I’m just about to review an unflavored one… stay tuned! (P.S. Stash has several)

Jenn-cha

I love this one. Definitely one of my favorite bagged teas.

Pamela Dean

I like this one, and absolutely LOVE the coconut mango oolong teabag from Stash. I get anxious if I run out. If you’d like to try it, we could swap.

Cofftea

Thanks, but I only took one bag from the TTB and even if I had another one I can’t stand coconut.

Long time no see…
So long, I’ve forgotten how to really think in tea…
So I drank this. It was good and warm and peachy. But I have no idea how to go about describing a oolong. A bit drying, astringent as it is. I like its slight bitterness, I may have over brewed it but I like it like that.
Hrummmm…I can’t listen to podcasts and type, and I ran out of tea to really dissect the taste when actually paying attention. $5 I’ll be slacking off more tomorrow, so I’ll make a better attempt at this.
On the absolutely generic level, I like it!

That’s why there’s an edit button. No one has to know.

teafiend

When did we get an edit button!?

Cofftea

Ummm… Idk… A while ago. Has it always been there?

teafiend

Maybe, I’ve never noticed that I needed to fix something before now, so I don’t think I ever tried to look for it and assumed we didn’t have one.

Cofftea

Click on tea log and it right next to each entry.

teafiend

Done and done, the moment you mention there was one I looked for it and fixed what I wanted to.

Cofftea

I know it’s there cuz i’ve used it lots lol :)

A predictably disappointing oolong from this teabag. I had to laugh when I ripped open said teabag to find some unidentifiable mulch. There is a peach aroma with an orange flavour, but I don’t think bagged fannings of oolong leaves really work.

Oolong in a teabag is just weird to me.

Tried this on a suggestion of my wife. Overall this is pretty tasty tea. Reminds me a lot of Lipton’s peach ice tea that you buy in the store….minus the sweetness. Not bad for a three dollar box of tea.

gmathis

I wish our selection of grocery-store Stash was bigger here in the Midwest; we see three, four flavors tops on the shelves here.

Jillian

I’m rather fond of this one too – it isn’t half-bad iced IMO.

The DJBooth

Ha ha @jillian my wife and I actually said that when we were trying that.

I selected a bag of this tea out of the Traveling Tea Box. I needed some tea on the fly this morning, so I went for the quick teabag approach. This tea isn’t awful by any means, but it isn’t going to knock anyone’s socks off either. It has a very light but pleasant peach aroma and taste. I’m not finding any depth to this tea, and the oolong that Stash used is about 5 kinds of bland. But it’s not awful…there’s just much better tea out there. As my cup cooled down, the taste was much sweeter and juicier. It would probably make a lovely iced tea if you made a fierce concentration of it first. This was a refreshing cup…I’ll give it that. Not too shabby for a bagged tea.

Brewed, with the mug just sitting to one side, I can SMELL the peach without even putting my nose in it. But leaning in, I also smell something… vaguely reminiscent of that Ginger Twist. I had a look of HORROR on my face there for a moment. I’m sure I scrubbed my mug well! Nooo.

Can’t really smell the tea. I think I do. Hmm.

Woah. The taste reminds me of peach wine. I’m serious. The peach isn’t that ‘fruity peach’ taste, but that ‘fermented wine’ taste. All it really needs is that alcoholic taste. Huh. Maybe I should steep it for a bit longer. I only did three minutes of the “three to five”.

The best thing about understeeping, I suppose, is that you can always just put the bag back in.

Longer steep… Doesn’t do much. Slightly stronger taste of the oolong I think. Not the peach, though. Still has a serious sort of ‘wine’ taste. Especially at the edge of my tongue. How odd. Unsure how to rate it.
