Nougatine is also fun to smell. Fruity-sweet; if it were a bit stronger, it would make awesome potpourri.
Trying an experiment this afternoon. I made a single-serve pot, heavy on the dry mix and steeping time (10 full minutes). The hibiscus in it hits you first—gotta love it or gotta hate it—but the vanilla and lavender and almond leaves this wonderful pastry sweetness on your tongue in between sips.
Also have a mason jar steeping on the front porch of Shabby House for sun tea. Since the hot tea steeping time has to be so long, I’ll have to let it go till sundown and see how the iced version comes out tomorrow.

Was just expecting a lot more from this.
As for hibiscus, I second that emotion!
I think I enjoyed it a little more than you, but I agree with the expecting more. I was hoping for something that grabbed me as much as the Strawberry Lemondaid does (which is one of my favorites, ever.) And it really didn’t. It was high on the meh scale, but still on it.

The dark and the sexy left when it was brewed up, but the fruity remained now coupled with a high sweet note.
I was surprised by the color. It contains hibiscus and beetroot – but it wasn’t as deep red as I thought I’d see. Just a pretty light red shade.
Taste-wise, it’s very pleasant. Light and fruity. The apple and plum blend together well, and personally I can barely taste the hibiscus. I think this may be a little wussy for an iced tea, but I’m enjoying it hot.
