I really enjoyed this tea! I may hunt down TinaS for the rest of the sample that Jessie split between us.
Dry, the leaves didn’t smell overwhelmingly of much at all, but once steeped it lived up to the name in a big way, a mellow tea with a smooth and sweet white chocolate creaminess. I wanted to just hold each swallow in my mouth for a while until it melted. Next time I might steep it a little shorter to bring out the sweet chocolate without the white tea getting more astringent. There was a kind of oily film on the top of the cup, I guess from the milk drops, but it didn’t put me off at all. Overall, a deliciously dessert tea.
SpecialTeas is no more. So, just out of curiosity, where did you get this tea?
It was a sample from Jessie :)
How very astute of you SimpliciTea!
Ah, the secret revealed!
I know what you mean about white chocolate tasting like butter…or sweet plastic or sweet wax…bleh as you say. It’s a wonder that someone could get it right. Suspending a creamy frosting feel that is smooth like chocolate in a tea would be a miracle! Would like to check this out myself!
Mmmmmm….butter.
Bonnie: even the best white chocolate can taste terrible, for me. If you ever get yer hands on some, go for it!! too bad SpecialTeas is down for the count. I’d love a nice tin of this one, and probably many of their other blends to… *sighs
Heather Martin: LOL agreed!! as long as it’s paired with something else. Like bread. Mmmmm so good!
Or my tongue. :P
