If I’m being honest, the “Teas I Drink In A Day” round up from this past Sunday was as much about using/showing off new teaware as it was about Star Wars day – and one of the pieces I got recently was a very beautiful yunomi cup while in Germany.
However, at this point in the day I’d already had two matchas, so I decided to switch things up and make this delicious microground black tea powder in it instead. I adore Soo’s Balhyocha so much so I had high expectations for the powder form of it. Honestly? Those expectations weren’t just met, but exceeded! It was so, so smooth texturally with the most gorgeous microfoam after whisking. The taste was insanely good though! So rich, fragrant and complex.
Chocolate. Peanuts. Leather. Malt. Musk. Honey. Orchids.
Just an explosion of flavour that I could have gotten totally lost in had I let myself sip this one slowly. Instead I drank it relatively quickly because, frankly, I just couldn’t resist. As much as I wanted to savor it, this was highly gulp-able.
