You won’t miss the caffeine with our naturally decaffeinated version of our outstanding, floral tasting Victorian Earl Grey. We blend naturally decaffeinated Ceylon tea with rose petals, lavender, rosemary and Bergamot oil.

I hesitated before buying this tea because I didn’t think I’d like the rosemary in the blend. Thankfully, I had no reason to worry, and this one might be even better than their regular decaf EG. The flavor is so complex without being harsh. The rosemary definitely works with the black tea and the bergamot. I’m drinking it as a latte, and it’s great! The second steep is as tasty as the first. And I love the lavender in here! It adds such a perfect softness. This is a great tea.
Usually you can tell in the flavor when a black tea is decaf, but not with the decaf teas from S&V. I love being able to drink a black tea at night when I’m craving one. I know that a black tea isn’t entirely empty of caffeine but there is certainly much less than a typical black tea. I wouldn’t be able to tell this is decaf and the black tea itself is actually quite strong in flavor. Definitely not weak and odd flavored like some decaf teas can be. I love the idea of a flowery Earl Grey. This one is lighter on the bergamot, or possibly the lavender takes over and drowns out the bergamot. I see plenty of lavender and roses in the blend but the rose is harder to distinguish. I would have liked all three elements to be more balanced in this blend (maybe by not including as much as the lavender?), but otherwise this is a great decaf.

It was! I have way too many caffeinated teas in my stash, so I’ve been very slowly getting through them all, but I look forward to trying that one for sure! S&V rarely goes wrong with their black teas.
