From Simpson & Vail

Originally native to the Mediterranean, almonds are now domestically cultivated in many places around the globe. References to almonds can be found in the Old Testament, and, even after all these years, almonds still hold an important part in people’s diet. The almond aroma in this tea resembles the heady smell of almond extract.

When brewed the amaretto aroma and taste is reminiscent of marzipan. This aromatic black tea blend has a rich, sweet taste and an aromatic fragrance that will delight your senses! The bright amber cup smells like a hot amaretto toddy but our tea version is, of course, non-alcoholic! The brewed cup has a pronounced, but not overdone, amaretto taste that lingers deliciously on the tongue. As it cools, this tea becomes even smoother with the almond flavor becoming less pronounced.

Ingredients: Black teas, almond pieces and almond flavoring.

I spent all of yesderday coughing up various chunks of lung. Yay.
I seem to be a bit better this morning, thank goodness, though still coughing. I swear, if I have any more Ricola, I will start to yodel.
But! Its time to move away from the lemon teas, and try some more regular teas. But still not the precious favorites.
Well, enter Simpson and Vail.
This, I think, is my favorite of the S&V teas I got. Its actually living up to its discription.
And you got to love the soothing properties of tea.

Feel better. Coughs are the worst. I hate it when I cough so much so long my back and side muscles start to get sore.

Rosehips

Yep! I’m at that stage, unfortunatly. Well, I’m taking it as easy as I can.

Stephanie

Feel better soon :)

Fjellrev

Oh no, I hope you feel better soon!

This is easily the first Simpson & Vail tea I’ve had that I like. It’s also the first one that tastes anything like it’s name to me.

The dominating note here is a strong almond flavor note. It’s definitely an almond extract type flavor, so if you’re not a fan of it I’d steer clear. The base is light, not entirely devoid of flavor, but mostly unremarkable. It is a smooth cup with no astringency, though and satisfying for what it is.

I guess I’m on an almond tea roll this morning. Now that I think about it, an almond pastry roll would be delicious right now too!

This tea is much smoother than the last almond tea I just tried and for that I am grateful! It has a nice round almond taste, but that is about it. There is no wow factor. It isn’t bad by any means, but it isn’t grabbing me either. It was good to try, won’t be a restock, but isn’t going into the “get rid of it” pile either.
