Drinking tea is a favorite pastime of most of us here in the arctic. There is something about the ritual of water and herb that requires contemplation and interaction with each other, and with nature. During travel we often stop to make small fires and brew strong teas using pristine mountain waters.
The Tisane: Like a lot of people I drink coffee in the morning. Sometimes I over do it and end up crashing in the afternoon. Instead of reaching for more coffee we instead brew a few cups of this much more healthy caffeinated drink. This tea takes advantage of the stimulating effects of Labrador tea and combines it with a touch of caffeine and other healthy herbs.
To Use: Place bag in a cup and pour boiling water over the bag. Steep for 4-5 minutes. Add sweetness if preferred. Use no more than 3 cups a day. Do not boil tea bags.
Ingredients: Wildcrafted Labrador Tea, Assam tea (a wonderful caffeinated black tea leaf), american ginseng, orange peel, cinnamon bark, rose hips, and rosemary.
