From Praise Tea Company

Warm up with our Rooibos blend of cinnamon sticks, cocoa bits, ginger and a lil black pepper for a nice kick.

The natural sweetness and rich flavour makes this tea a tempting delight. Rich in antioxidants, naturally caffeine free.

Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me a bit of this tea.

Hmm. Chocolate-y. The other tasting notes mention a subtle chocolate note … but I am getting a strong dark cocoa taste from this. Perhaps because I steeped it for 10 minutes in my Libre Mug (and it continues to steep as I sit here and sip on it?) I don’t know. Perhaps because I had a very tart apple juice just a while ago and it has made my taste buds more tuned in to particular flavors? I don’t know. All I do know is that my first sip reminded me quite a bit of pure bittersweet cocoa with notes of spice. I don’t taste rooibos at all (and I personally think that’s a good thing).

Anyway… I’m liking what I’m tasting at this point. If the flavor changes as I continue to sip, I’ll be sure to note it in the comments.

As I continue to sip, I can taste the barley and the chicory. These two components really seem to play to the savory cocoa flavors I taste. I taste relatively little of the spices, I can taste warmth from the ginger and cinnamon, but, these really aren’t strong flavors. Nevertheless, I’m quite enjoying what I am tasting!

Even though I can’t drink red rooibos ’cuz of migraines, this one temps me!

FrenchVanilla AKA QueenOfTarts sent me some of this and it does smell great! Like Milk Chocolate and cinnamon. I do have a large cinnamon stick within the mixture I am infusing, too! This infused very dark! Like a black tea would, actually.

The flavor isn’t as sweet as the aroma…you can certainly pick up on the spices and the cocoa is delish yet a bit more subtle than I assumed it would be based on the aroma. It’s still pretty good tho!

I doubled the amount but not the length – I don’t think I would do it any other way! This seems to work well with a ‘double shot’ as I like to call it!

I must admit that I was nervous to try this tea. I opened up the pouch and found that there were large pieces of cinnamon, small beads of pepper and very little rooibos! I don’t like spicy or peppery teas in the slightest.. but this tea intrigued me. The smell is definitely of spices, cinnamon and a hint of sweetness.. similar to a cinnamon bun.
The taste is a bit mild compared to the smell. I don’t taste rooibos or cocoa/chocolate. It makes my tongue and throat tingle. The flavor is really just cinnamon and spices with an odd sweetness in the background. This is too peppery/spicy for me. I won’t be buying this.
