Decadent and delicious. The aromatics of the Cinnamon Bun Loose Leaf Tea will satisfy any sweet tooth. The combination of cinnamon, orange, and black currant creates a one-of-a-kind sipping experience without stepping foot in a bakery.

I was a little worried about this one because the dry leaf visual sorta just looks intensely like finally chopped up cinnamon pieces with very little else to contribute flavour and the aroma is very aggressively cinnamon in the “red hot” kind of way that doesn’t exactly translate to cinnamon buns, which should have more of a bakery-style woody cinnamon note. However, steeped up I found myself impressed with the surprising amount of balance that was present! It’s still definitely majority cinnamon, but I think it would feel wrong is that wasn’t the case for a cinnamon bun profile. Plus, despite the smell coming off as red-hot cinnamon, the taste was _definitely the right type for this flavour direction. More warming with a softer sweetness. Very, very bakery.

There’s other things in the ingredients too like moringa and orange, but ultimately I don’t taste them at all. I think it would be weird if I did taste them but it also then begs the question of why they’re included. If I had to guess, the moringa is probably just to be able to loop in that superfood buzz word and give more of a wellness feeling to a generally perceived as decadent profile. The orange, on the other hand, really does puzzle me.

I saw this tin at the international grocery store, and I just had to try it. The flavor isn’t too unique or special, but it is enjoyable. There’s nothing about this blend that evokes baked goods. It’s more of a mild herbal spice blend. It’s mild enough that I wasn’t sure it would take milk. It has its own sweetness. I like to oversteep/overleaf this a bit, and it turns into a slightly less great version of S&V’s snickerdoodle. Yeah, when brewed like this, it’s a pretty good tea. I checked Pinky Up’s website, and most of their teas are out of stock, but there are several that sound pretty enticing.

I’ve been eyeing a few of them as well especially after I noticed target carries some.

Oh I’ll have to check my local Target and see if they have any!

Tea Smoothie Sipdown (228)

Thank you Cameron B for sharing!

Lately I have been enjoying my smoothies with cinnamon so I thought this may be a fun tea to incorporate. I was wrong. I am getting mostly the plain greek yogurt and then a weird flavor from the tea. Sort of cinnamon, but on the sweet side and carrot. Not the best way to go about drinking this.

The Great Cupboard Excavation
Untasted teas remaining: 5

This does definitely taste like a cinnamon roll, with the pastry, cinnamon, and icing notes. Maybe a little raisin and orange in there as well.

Only issue is, it’s waaay too sweet for me. I guess it must be the “maple crystals”, but it’s quite sugary. Which is unfortunate, because otherwise I would be tempted to keep this one around as a nice cinnamon roll herbal tea… :(
