From Paromi

Our Earl Grey is the ultimate edition of this classic tea. Hand-picked Assam black tea from the Mangalam tea estate in North India is infused with the pure essence of bergamot. Our select bergamot oil is cultivated from a narrow strip of coastline in the province of Reggio Calabria in southern Italy, where it has been produced since the middle of the 17th century. Its vibrant bouquet, with sweet notes of citrus, coupled with our smooth, malty Assam, delivers a palate-rewarding experience.

Harvesting Unmistakable flavor and aroma
Superb bergamot oil distinguishes our earl grey. The fine, emerald green oil is extracted by cold pressing the skin of the bergamot orange – a yellow colored, pear-shaped citrus fruit.

Ingredients:
black tea, mallow blossom, marigold blossom, natural bergamot essence

Brewing Instructions:
Place 1 sachet in 10-12 oz boiling water and steep 5 minutes. Watch the leaves work their magic. For a great second brew, reuse the sachet, steeping longer.

Caffeine:
Caffeinated – About 1/3 of the caffeine in a cup of coffee.

Origin of Key Ingredients:
Hand picked Assam black tea: Mangalam Tea Estate; Sibsagar District; Assam, India
Bergamot essential oil: Reggio Calabria, Italy (Ionian Coast)

My sister gave this to me for Christmas and I have to say, I’ve tried a lot of earl grey in my day, and I really really liked this. Make sure you stick to the brewing times – if you go over, the bitterness is not forgiving. I recommend 4 minutes. The 2nd brew IMO is the best. I love that I can get a 2nd use out of the same teabag. Not only is the packaging beautiful, but the tea itself is just as high quality. I find that the tea is a little overwhelming at the recommended steeping time. Otherwise, very good.

I wasn’t in the mood for anything challenging this morning, so I grabbed a sachet and made a mindless brew. With that said, I’m absolutely stunned by how much I like this.

Keeping the brew time short mellows out the assam and lets the crisp, lively notes of the bergamot come to the surface. There’s layers of citrus and that quintessential Earl Grey that just lightly coat the mouth with each sip, leaving you warmed up and ready to tackle the endless piles of computer work that accumulated over the holidays. Or, uh, was that just me?

And speaking of computers, just dumped a solid half-cup of this brew onto my laptop. Let’s hope it’s compatible with Windows 10?

Oh crap, hope your laptop still works!

This is definitely not the first time I’ve done this – thanks to a plastic keyboard cover and some quick thinking it’s still working just fine. :)

Well, this is awkward. I have not logged a single note of this tea, and yet I have drunk my entire container of it. Whoops.
Its really quite pleasant! I have a long and somewhat complicated history with Earls, and they don’t always work for me, but this is so fragrant, and so pleasant, and so easy (there is something to be said for a quick and easy sachet of tea on the mornings when waking up is painful.), that I give it a solid thumbs up.
It may come back into my cupboard some day. Not urgent (especially as I am now on a buy-ban. I can buy some in the fall/winter, but even that is limited.), but it may work its way back.

A delicate, almost floral Earl Grey when made as a milk tea. I haven’t had it any other way yet…(a gift from my mom, who has told me that the bergamot aroma is too intense when brewed straight. It might be an issue with brewing time, but so far I haven’t found reason to change what works yet.)
