Palais des Thés Advent Calendar – Day 24

This is one of the PDT blends I wanted to try, yay! It’s an almond, vanilla, and spice green-oolong blend. Almond teas tend to disappoint me, but still I find myself intrigued by the concept…

This is stone cold now that I’m getting around to drinking it. But that’s okay, I usually prefer my teas room temperature anyway. There is a lovely sweet cinnamon note that’s warming but not overpowering. I do taste the almond as well – it has a marzipan-like flavor but is mild enough to not be cloying. The two together taste quite cookie-ish. Maybe something like a snickerdoodle but with added almond? The base is smooth and fairly docile – I can taste maybe a hint of the green tea’s grassy and leafy notes.

It’s yummy! I would consider ordering this one.

This sounds yummy. I’m curious, since you prefer your tea at room temp, do you try it as it’s cooling or just wait until it’s at perfect drinking temp? I’m wondering because with certain teas I find the flavour profile drastically changes with temperature.

Generally I’ll drink them as they’re cooling, but never when they’re hot. I’m a warm tea kind of gal, or even room temperature. :P

I’m a gulp when hot kind of girl, lol :P

So am I, Nattie! All my friends have cat-tongues and don’t know how I do it, hahaha!

This tastes and smells like Christmas to me. Almond spice, light and creamy (like a marzipan), it’s quite lovely and unexpected.
