From Murchie's Tea & Coffee

Murchie’s Gunpowder Organic tea is a true organic green tea, this gunpowder tea produces a mild, green cup with extraordinary flavour and aroma. More loosely rolled in appearance than other grades of gunpowder.

Gunpowder green tea gets its name from the shape of the leaves, so tightly rolled they resemble the pellets used as musket shot. The taste is mildly astringent and grassy, and yields a slightly smoky aroma.

Sipdown, etc.

This is an old sample from Cavocorax. Heh.

The leaves of this gunpowder are rolled super tight and small, but as they steep they open up and release a lot of dust. That makes me sad.

It’s a pretty good green tea, definitely something I’ll be drinking more of… as a friend got me some for Christmas. :)

It’s not too vegetal, not too buttery, not too much like seaweed. That’s good, because I tend to dislike those flavours in green teas.
