From Min River Tea

Produced in Ya An near the sacred Emei Mountain, this is a light green tea with an ever-so-slightly spicy, herbal taste. The name is a nod to the indigenous bamboo leaves and a local snake that shares the colour.

Picked in late March at 1200m above sea level, the leaves undergo probably the lightest processing of any green tea. Barely touched by the farmer’s hands, careful temperature control develops the taste and shape of the leaves. With an aroma of fresh sweet peas and a smooth, ‘whole-mouth’ taste, this is a perfect tea for warm summer days.

Finishing off the last of this sample from Min River Tea. BTW, am I the only one who feels guilty if I get free samples from a vendor and then don’t end up buying anything? I should get over it.

I don’t have a lot of Chinese green teas in my collection, most of my straight/flavored green teas are Japanese. I’m not sure why this is the case as I do enjoy them. At any rate, Min River has some delicious Chinese green teas, some of the best I have had to date. I think I will go in for a 2nd steep of this one, perhaps it will mollify my immune system. See previous review for a better tasting note :)

I feel guilty when I get free samples for review and don’t review them promptly. There should be no obligation to buy with samples, so I don’t feel guilty – I participate in spreading the word if they’re good!

boychik

We can’t buy all the teas

Kittenna

But boy do we try.

TeaBrat

I think I have almost all of them… lol ;)

Yeah, absolutely, don’t feel guilty! Personally, I’m happy to hear feedback and spread a bit of love. From a business point of view, the cost of giving away samples is part of our planning, so it’s no problem on that front!
