From Maya Tea Company

Our Madagascar Coconut White Tea is like a coconut cream pie in a cup! A vibrant combination of Madagascar vanilla and coconut to a rich toasty flavored white tea for a fruity, buttery and sweet finish. Developed for a family friend whom has so lovingly shared with others enough that we needed to add it to our wonderful list of teas. Formally known as “Lisa’s Coconut”, we obliged with a much more mysterious name. Thanks Lisa!

This tea smells buttery, sweet and a tiny bit fruity. There is also something in the background that reminds me of yogurt. I’m pleased to say that the coconut is not too overwhelming as far as the scent is concerned. Yes, I do like coconut, but it has to be “just so” in a tea or else I won’t enjoy it. Coconut has the potential to become overpowering, sour and too sweet. If scent is any indication, I think I will enjoy this cup!

Sipping… it takes a little while for the flavor to develop on the tongue. The first part of the sip leads you to believe you’re drinking plain hot water or a very weak white tea. As the sip continues, the sweet coconut blossoms and becomes apparent. The finish is sweet and a little bit of that tangy sourness that coconut tends to leave behind.

I did steep this tea for a rather short amount of time, about 2 minutes (White tea and I usually don’t get along well, plus I find it can be oversteeped quite easily!). This blend is soothing and soft — it reminds me a bit of a light linen blanket. Not too much or too little, but has just the right amount of flavor to provide you with comfort. I do like this tea, but don’t think I would buy it again. It doesn’t really call to me the way other teas do, but happy to have had a cup this afternoon!

I’m not the biggest fan of coconut, but this smelled more cake-y rather than coconut and ahhh such a wonderful dry leaf scent :)
Steeping, this takes on a light amber liquor, and the coconut does get more pronounced.
I really like how this has a slight vanilla flavour, and the coconut isn’t overpowering. I despise coconut, and I’m still trying coconut teas, and this one is definitely one of the better ones! Sorta hoped that the cake scent

You’re braver than I am. I generally skip anything that is at least called coconut something.

Ahh I forgot to thank QueenOfTarts for this sample!
Yeah, I never willingly buy anything with coconut or other flavours I’m not a fan of, but since it was given to me in a swap, it’s a chance for me to try something I probably would have never picked up :)
