Pouchong (or baozhong): a blue tea unique to the environs of Pin Lin – a mountainous and humid region in the north of Formosa – typically harvested in the beginning of spring.
Leaves : green, long, and nicely wrinkled
Nose : exhales a tender aroma of green papaya
Liquor : golden green, balanced; its still-green leaves impart a grassy tone, a supple texture and a coolness that lasts throughout its consumption; slightly oxidised, its silky body grounds the wispy, floral notes – a hint of citrus flower – and a light and sweet fragrance with a vanilla-like flavour. The long and persistent finish peaks with a subtle and unexpected note of rice.
