First infusion: Ack. Used a bit too much water. Really looking forward to the arrival of my tiny teapot next week. Still, I’m getting sweetness and a wonderfully buttery mouthfeel, even when diluted a bit.

Second infusion: Better concentration this time, and the brew is still sweet, a little more brisk, and oddly less complex. It’s leaving a little celery burn on the tongue.

Unfortunately, I have to go to work and can’t keep infusing. Not sure if I don’t love this one or if I just messed up the brew too much.

I need to do a quick confession. Think I ruined the pumpkin pie. We’ll see in 30 minutes. I’m sitting here drinking this tea thinking it’s not quite what I thought it was going to be. Nutty and grassy start with a surprisingly sweet finish. Leaves nothing in the aftertaste. Still I don’t mind it. Just not going to the top of my list.

I enjoyed this wonderfully curly green tea on the airplane on the way back from the Midwest Tea Fest. This tea has been sitting around since I ordered it, but I’ve sent a few samples of it out to other steepsterites. I’m definitely going to have to drink this more! It’s a wonderfully light green with hints of chestnut, butter, and overall deliciousness. If you’re a fan of teas like dragonwell, then this would be a great tea to have.

It’s rare that this happens, but this one was kind of disappointing. Not bad tea, by any means; it just didn’t do much for me. I did three steeps in a gaiwan for 30/60/90. There was some green tea sweetness at the outset, but it dropped off pretty quickly and I was left wanting more flavor and longevity. I think it’s got potential though, so I’ll try it next time with more leaves and see how that changes the equation.
