Yay, this is the first of my oldest teas to be finished! It was from December of 2016!

As far as I can tell, this one is fairly identical to Jingle Bells, though with different flower petals. It’s a smooth earthy and woody black base with a juicy candy grape flavor. Simple, but enjoyable if you like that sort of thing. I do! It reminds me of grape Hi-Chew, which is one of my favorite flavors of that candy.

I do have Jingle Bells as well, and it’s quite old, so hopefully it doesn’t come up too soon. It would be nice to have a break between grape candy black teas! :P

Unfortunately this one was a limited New Year tea for the Year of the Rooster, so it’s no longer available…

Oh dear! They do have another grape flavored tea. Perhaps it will be close enough!

2970 tasting notes

I should have drunk this yesterday, on actual Lunar New Year! Whoops. I forgot. I will have to drink it today instead.
I am a sucker for the Lupicia holiday/decorated tins. They are just so beautiful, so prettily decorated. I have so many now, and have not managed to think of anything to do with them, once I’m finished with the tea. Hmm, I’ll think of something.
This is a black blend with grape flavoring. I am usually a fan of Lupicia’s fruit flavors, but this blend is a touch bitter today. It may be my steeping thats caused this, so I’m not ready to despair over this yet. I’ll give it more trys.

I’ve had problems in the past with Lupicia’s black blends. They seem to go bitter extremely easily. But great idea enjoying this around this time of the year!

The tins are such a useless shape for anything other than tea! I don’t want to put a different tea in them and haven’t found a good use around the house for them either.
