Our Vietnam Orental Beauty is a fine plucked one bud and one leaf Oolong tea that is produced from the Jinxuan cultivar. The distinctive nature of the tea is that it is prepared using leaves that have been attacked by Leafhopper insects (or Jassids) which suck sap from the leaves causing the release of pleasing volatile flavour compounds.
The tea is produced in very small batches and only during the second flush each year when the Leafhoppers are plentiful. It is produced on the fertile Moc Chau plateau in Son La province at an altitude of 1000 metres.
Oriental Beauty is oxidised to approximately 70% and produces an exquisite amber coloured tea with a creamy aroma and beautiful muscatel flavour that perfectly complements the citrus and honey notes. This tea is a rare treat.
