This is another fine tea from our friends at Mangalam. It was such a pleasure to visit them in remote Assam last Spring. Mangalam FTGFOP is full leaf tea which has the lovely honey flavors that Mangalam makes so well.

I ordered a sample of this and several other H&S teas-I appreciate that they offer sample sizes. As expected, this Single Estate Assam has dark leaves and many golden tips. To me, it is mild, but not without flavor. Sweet, smooth, and easy to drink with the characteristic malty notes of a good Assam. The H&S description says it is strong-I wouldn’t describe it that way. I used 2 gm at boiling, for 4 1/2 minutes and got a second steeping. Worth trying if you like Assams. The reason I didn’t rate it yet is not because I didn’t like it, but I’d like to try it a few more times first. It seems the more teas I try, the harder it is to put a number on it!

:( That doesn’t sound so great. I drank Paris last night and it was really amazing. I can’t believe I was meh about it the first time. So, maybe this Assam will be better next time around!
Yeah, I was hoping for a super strong Assam this morning, but it didn’t happen. So instead of getting a different one from the cupboard, I went with something on the counter. Oh well.
The cafe on campus sells H&S, I can’t believe I hadn’t noticed that. I’m going to try a couple different ones I think. :)

I zoned out and noticed the pretty tins. :D I prefer Paris to the Earl Grey.
