From Handmade Tea

Perry Tart starts with a sweet and fragrant black tea from the Yunnan Province with golden tips. Sweet dried pear pieces are added for a sweet fresh fruit flavor. Lastly dried cranberry pieces are blended in adding a crisp and tart flavor to the finish of the beverage.

So I just realized a few days ago that I never reviewed this one on steepster.

This one is a good blend. It is very lightly smokey. There are large, LARGE, chunks of dried fruit in the tea blend. However, they mostly look like cranberries. I don’t get much fruit flavour out of this tea. But the fruit does add a light sweetness to the black blend.I was hoping for a bit more “tart” out of this tea. But it is still a decent blend.

I was really excited to try this because I’ve been looking for a good pear tea for a while. Unfortunately, this isn’t it. Don’t get me wrong – it’s a lovely black tea. But I can’t taste any fruit at all in this. There are both dried pears and cranberries, but the taste doesn’t come through with steeping. Which is a shame.

As a black tea, however, it’s quite nice. Smooth, slightly sweet, and no hint of bitterness.
