Devon Bartholomew Advent Day 5

This seems like your classic jasmine-scented green tea; I don’t notice any other flavors in play here. While I’m not a huge jasmine fan, I’m pleased that this one has a very balanced flavor; the jasmine isn’t overpowering or too perfume-like.

I drank six cups of this when I first had it at a Thai restaurant and they told me what it was – they make it better than I do, LOL, I still like it better at their restaurant than in my cup :)

I bought this tin box for roughly $6.5 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. I’ve prepared it four times so far, but I can’t get it to taste as good as other jasmine teas I tried. I keep getting the impression that I add the water while it’s too hot, or that I over-steep it, even though I never let it infuse past 3 minutes.

The smell is lovely, but the taste doesn’t (fully) catch up. It’s not bad but I wouldn’t call it stellar.
