This Formosa Oolong Estate Tea is best enjoyed as a full pot with company. Named after the region in which it was grown, Formosa translates to “beautiful”, and refers to the area now known as Taiwan.

This tea is slightly sweet and smooth, but toasty with a touch of dryness. Oolongs are described as manufactured with some oxidation, which makes them not quite a black tea, and not quite a green; but somewhere in between.

For the best brew, Formosa Oolong Estate Tea should steep in water that has been brought to a light boil (165-190° F) for 1-3 minutes.

Fairly similar response to last time, that this is a reasonably generic dark oolong. Tasty, but nothing overly special. I may have understeeped a bit though, so am missing out on some of the oolongy goodness. Will have to address that with cup #2.

Interesting. This is very similar to the Formosa Oolong I had from Tea Emporium, only richer. Deeper even, like coffee… Brisk! but also refreshing in it’s fruitiness.
I agree with Azzrian, it’s rather clean and a dark oolong indeed! Big thank you for the sample Azzrian!
(sorry for the short review, again!! I just got home… it’s almost 11!)

I like the darker notes of roasted oolong here. I think dark oolongs are my favorite, so far. So I tend to think of tea as vegetal when it’s not flavored because I feel like I get a bit of “plant” taste. I feel like it’s happened right after a heavy rain. You know the way the yard smells after it’s just poured down and the sun pops out. Every thing is clean and perky, that is what I get with this.

A very enjoyable oolong. Slightly “dark” tasting for an oolong.
Refreshing and relaxing cup.
Its one of those cups you find yourself gulping down.
It has a clear clean taste.
This cooled off quite a bit as I was doing some things and I found it to be very good cool as well.
It has this slight flavor of hay. Earthy, but fresh like spring time.
