Another tea I pulled out this weekend while reorganizing!
I remember, when we launched this tea, how excited I was about it because I honestly do think it’s a huge improvement over the original “Oh Canada” formulation. It’s just so much richer, and the maple is more authentic tasting IMO. It was also the first time DT had worked with Monkfruit as a sweetener – people didn’t seem to love the flavour of it, but I think the round and dense darker sweetness of the monk fruit works well with the profile of this tea. Just keep your steep times short; it can be a bit more with long steeps.
In an ideal world I would love if we didn’t use sweeteners at all – but monk fruit seemed like a better option (at least in these types of profiles) than stevia to me. Oh well…
Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
