Thank you VariaTEA for the sample of this one! I pulled out a few black samples out of my closet to work on since my sipdown drawer was looking a little lonely, and this is one of them. I must say, the sample section in my closet is looking awfully empty right now; I’ve been doing a great job of keeping my cupboard at a reasonable number lately.

Also, I have to admit that I don’t remember much about this cup though I do strongly remember the second one I had of it (the sipdown one; which I’ll write about later – there’s more stuff in the queue to get through first). Because of that I’ll just have to rely on my notes to summarize what my thoughts were when I had it…

- Made in my timolino
- Visually lots of interesting things going on in the leaf
- A little hard to pinpoint what’s in this/the flavours based on sight and smell
- I don’t taste any rosemary… Thank God?
- Why does Rosemary instantly remind me of lesbian alien lovers!?
- Oh, this is why: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mdykbgfLmJ1rb5pqfo4_500.jpg
- It’s a Homestuck thing…
- Back to tea: Even if I don’t taste Rosemary I do taste the rose, which is well balanced
- The fig is stronger than I expected it to be
- The caramel just makes the fig seem richer, like some sorta glaze?
- Is caramelized fig actually a thing?
- The black base is JUST A TOUCH bitter, but nice overall
- Yeah, this is better than anticipated
- Just weird; like canon alien lesbian lovers…

http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6 Rose Lalonde and Kanaya Maryam are both characters in this webcomic, and their ship name is RoseMary. One is a human female, and the other is a troll who is presumed to be female (trolls don’t have as defined gender roles or just gender in general in comparison to humans). Late in the comic they have a canon relationship.

13/28 sipdowns

thanks for sending this one my way VariaTEA i think i would like this one a lot better without the rose. Initial sips of this are really nice and then the floral takes over and makes this a note happy sort of cup :( I am glad to have tried it though, as always you never know what you’ll like!

Terri HarpLady 11 years ago

So you’d like it better if it was just ‘romeo’ ;)
…assuming juliet is represented by the rose…on the other hand, Juliet could be like us, drinking a tasty cup of tea on her balcony, while Romeo stands below with a bouquet of roses…

Thank you for sending this my way VariaTEA. It’s interesting to get a tea from a local company, from someone else. I really do appreciate it, because this is not one I would choose for myself.
I actually liked this. It’s sweet and caramelly with just a hint of floral in the back. I don’t normally do well with floral, but this is just a bit and seems to go well with the sweetness of the fig and caramel. Thank you for this interesting experience. I really liked it!!

My browser crashed and I lost my note. Sad panda. :(

This tea is really interesting. The ingredients really made me do a double take… I mean, caramel, rose, and rosemary? What?

But the tea is pretty good! A little floral for me because I ended up with a whole rose bud in my steeping basket, but a really interesting combination of flavours.

Thank you for suggesting this one, VariaTEA! Or did I suggest it? I don’t remember anymore. :)

SAD PANDA!

Sil 11 years ago

omg, don’t be trying to take my panda from me

__Morgana__ 11 years ago

I love that phrase, but my favorite part was “I don’t remember anymore” because I feel like that all the damn time. LOL.

VariaTEA 11 years ago

Haha I think this was a collective decision since I mentioned it because of the name and you jumped on it because of the rosemary.

OMGsrsly 11 years ago

:D I won’t take your panda away from you, Sil! But I might borrow it from time to time. :)

VariaTEA, that’s probably it. Tea with herbs! It’s a thing with me. :)

Morgana: Yes. :)

I haven’t heard anyone use Sad Panda in such a long time! That’s exactly how I feel when I lose a note, although occasionally it’s Awkward Turtle because I want to record but feel too lazy to rewrite it all out.

This is a really interesting tea. There is a fair amount of sweetness derived from the figs with a hint of caramel drizzled on top. As I continue to sip, the floral of the rose kicks in but in a fresh sort of way as opposed to being chemical or perfumey. Finally, the sip ends with rosemary which sits on your tongue long after the experience is over. Definitely a unique flavor profile and one I am glad I will get to have again. Hopefully, OMGsrsly enjoys her half of this as much as I have enjoyed mine.

To milk, or not to milk. That is the question. ;)

VariaTEA 11 years ago

Try without milk first and then you can see the difference.
